UMD FORMULA ELECTRIC RACING

DATA ACQUISITION:

  • Working with the AiM EVO4 data logger
  • 5 analog channels
  • Working with  RaceStudio2 software for collecting and interpreting data for various Race laps (Kindly email for further details)
  • Inbuilt 3 axis accelerometer for longitudinal g(acceleration/braking), lateral g(cornering) data logging

CURRENT PROGRESS:

Arduino UNO, Data Logger, wheel speed sensor, rotary and linear potentiometer

  • Working with the data logging system
  • Working with an Arduino UNO for monitoring analog values of sensors on serial monitor
  • Testing and calibrating:
    • Wheel speed sensor (hall effect sensor)
    • Steering wheel sensor(Rotary potentiometer)
    • Linear potentiometer (Pedal travel and other applications)
    • Strain gaugues (Co-ordinating with suspension and other depts of the team)

 

 

 

 

 

BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:

2016-Present

  • Coordinating with the electrical team on the Battery Management System circuit and schematics:
    • Monitoring individual cell voltage
    • Monitoring cell temperature
    • Balancing cells
    • Maximum allowable voltage is 300VDC according to competition rules

  • Worked with EarthX 18F battery based on LiFePo4 tehnology:
    • In built cell balancing technology
    • Over discharge protection
    • Over charge protection
    • Short circuit protection
